Pineapple juice is an excellent home remedy for menstrual cramps, as pineapple acts as an anti-inflammatory that decreases inflammation of the tissues of the uterus, reducing constant contractions and relieving menstrual pain.
But, the other ingredients are also decisive for the effectiveness of this home remedy. Ginger, for example, has a similar action to pineapple and, therefore, increases the analgesic effect of menstruation symptoms, while watercress and apple are diuretics, decreasing fluid retention by the body and consequently reducing cramps.
Ingredients
- 1 leaf of watercress
- 3 pineapple slices
- ½ green apple
- 1 slice of ginger
- 200 ml of water
Preparation mode
Cut all the ingredients into small pieces and add them in a blender. Beat well and after sweetening to your taste the juice is ready to be drunk. This home remedy should be taken 3 to 4 times a day, to have better results in pain relief.
In addition, what can be done to relieve colic is to place a bag of warm water in the pelvic area and wear light clothing, which does not squeeze this region. Drinking plenty of water also helps menstruation to go down more quickly, relieving cramps.
However, when the cramps are really severe and disabling, a consultation with the gynecologist is recommended to see if there are any problems, such as endometriosis, for example.
