Diprogenta is a remedy available in cream or ointment, which has in its composition the main actives betamethasone dipropionate and gentamicin sulfate, which exert anti-inflammatory and antibiotic action.
These drugs can be used to treat inflammatory manifestations in the skin, aggravated by infections caused by bacteria, which include diseases such as psoriasis, dyshidrosis, eczema or dermatitis, also relieving itching and redness.
What is it for
Diprogenta is indicated for the relief of inflammatory manifestations of dermatoses sensitive to complicated corticosteroids due to secondary infections caused by bacteria sensitive to gentamicin, or when such infections are suspected.
These dermatoses include psoriasis, allergic contact dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, circumscribed neurodermatitis, lichen planus, erythematous intertrigo, dehydrosis, seborrheic dermatitis, exfoliative dermatitis, solar dermatitis, stasis dermatitis and anogenital itch.
How to use
The ointment or cream should be applied in a thin layer over the affected area, so that the lesion is completely covered with the medication.
This procedure should be repeated 2 times a day, in the morning and in the evening, at 12 hour intervals. Depending on the severity of the injury, symptoms may improve with less frequent applications. In any case, the frequency of application and the duration of treatment must be established by the doctor.
Who should not use
Diprogenta should not be used by people who are allergic to any of the components present in the formula, or on people who have skin tuberculosis or skin infections caused by viruses or fungi.
In addition, this product is also not suitable for use on the eyes or children under 2 years of age. It is also not recommended for pregnant women or women who are breastfeeding, unless recommended by the doctor.
Possible side effects
The most common side effects that may occur with the use of this medication are erythema, itching, allergic reaction, skin irritation, skin atrophy, skin infection and inflammation, burning, bruising, inflammation of the hair follicle or appearance of spider veins.
